Margot Robbie, Nicole Kidman and Charlize Theron have teamed up for a shocking new movie. The film follows women at the heart of a sex scandal at Fox News, based on true events. With the movie expected to hit cinemas in January 2020, can fans get a hint of what is in store?

Is there a new trailer for Bombshell?

The latest trailer for Bombshell has just been released and it shows a completely other world to the one many are used to.

The film follows three women as they try to stand up for themselves in a world which wants them to stay quiet – with explosive results.

The trailer opens to the sight of Kate McKinnon’s character Jess Carr, explaining to new girl Kayla Pospisil (played by Margot Robbie) what kind of news Fox News wants to see.

She says: “You have to adopt the mentality of an Irish street cop.

“The world is a bad place, people are lazy morons, minorities are criminals, sexists: sick but interesting.

“Ask yourself what would scare my grandmother or p**s off my grandfather, and that’s a Fox story.”

Kayla seemed to think this makes sense but soon, the world around her makes little sense at all, as the trailer cuts to presenter Gretchen Carlson (Nicole Kidman).

Gretchen’s co-host regularly makes sexist comments to her, which causes her to seek advice where she says: “The attitude off camera was even worse.”

She continues by telling her lawyers some of the phrases she has been forced to hear: “You’re a man hater; learn to get along with the boys; you’re sexy but too much work. I have a whole list.”

Her advisers ask her if other women would come forward, at which point we see Megyn Kelly (Charlize Theron) being teased over her period.

President Donald Trump suggested there was “blood coming out of her…” when they had a difficult exchange during a presidential debate in 2015.

After that, she became a story, where people were discussing her bust-up with Trump, only for her boss, Roger Ailes, to say: “Nobody stops watching because of a conflict.

“They stop watching when there isn’t one.”

After this moment, Kayla tries to convince Ailes to let her be on camera.

But when she leaves the meeting, it is clear something has occurred to make her feel uncomfortable.

The trailer reveals Gretchen sues the network and Roger Ailes for sexual harrassment.

But the Fox workers are told to be “Team Roger,” even being forced to wear t-shirts to support him, despite women with whom they work at the centre of the scandal.

Megyn seems to join Gretchen, as she is then called a “traitor,” before she asks Gretchen: “Are you ready to go to war?”

Gretchen says: “Oh yeah.” The game really is on for these women as they take on the man.

Bombshell is out in cinemas on January 24, 2020
