Brexit Party MEP exposes inner workings of EU Parliament ‘farce’ in furious Brexit rant
This week on Express.co.uk’s Brexit: The Final Countdown podcast host Rebecca Hutson was joined by Head of News Paul Baldwin, Brussels correspondent Joe Barnes and Brexit Party MEP Michael Heaver. Leave supporter Michael Heaver explained howthe Brexit Party is determined to fight for Brexit in EU Parliament as he revealed very few MEPs even attend debates. Mr Heaver also attacked Tory, Labour and Liberal Democrat MEPs who had seemingly made little impact during their time in European Parliament.
He added the Brexit Party had become recognisable because of their antics in the EU Parliament and dedication to fighting for Brexit.
The Brexiteer said: “Nigel Farage has done very we’ll over a number of years making sure he loses his job.
“He has pushed and battled for it and we are doing the same.
“In terms of the European Parliament, I think it is fair to say the Brexit Party MEPs have had more of an impact in a short time we have been there than those that have been there for years and years.

“There are many Liberal Democrats, Labour and Tory MEPs that have been there for donkey years that you couldn’t name.
“We have gone there, we have videoed what is going on, we have shown and exposed what is going on.
“We have tried to reiterate time and time again this is why we must leave.”
Mr Baldwin agreed and added: “To be fair most people, until you guys got there, didn’t know who their MEP was.

“They could have walked past them in the street and just not known.
“They would have not known who they were, what they did and how much we paid them.”
Mr Heaver replied: “That is by design.
“What I will say is that the whole European Parliament system and the European Union is designed so these establishment MEPs go over there and get their feet under the table.
“They sort of go into this little system whereby they are virtually anonymous, they are very well out of it, they don’t do much work and they just become part of the system.

“MEPs have no real power, other than going over there and exposing what is going on and beating the drum for Brexit, it is not a real Parliament.
“In fact, many of the times we sit in there, and Jo Barnes has seen us he can attest to this, there is not many people in there.
“They have these so-called debates but it is virtually empty most of the time.
“We turn up because we are supporting each other and we are showing that we are there battling for Brexiteers.
“Where the rest are I don’t know, maybe the coffee bars or having a nice lunch.
“But the more I have gone there, and a lot of people say this, the more times you go there and spend there you can see what a big farce it is and why it is so important that we must leave as soon as possible.”
