Bruce Forsyth dead at 89: WATCH him sing at Glastonbury – Didn't he do well?
The iconic singer, dancer and broadcaster had been battling illness throughout 2017.
Forsyth’s manager, Ian Wilson, released a statement today: “It is with great sadness that the Forsyth family announce that Sir Bruce passed away this afternoon, peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife Wilnelia and all his children.”
As well as hosting some of the biggest televison shows of all time like Strictly Come Dancing and The Generation Game, Forsyth was an all-round entertainer who started out at 14 and never stopped working.
Recently he returned to music and performed a show-stopping set at Glastonbury.
Forsyth played the Avalon stage at Glastonbury in 2013.

True to form, the video is over 12 minutes long, but only includes one song. The rest of the time is a flawless example of how to entertain a crowd with patter and well-tried jokes.
To rousing cheers he said: “If you’re a really good audience I’ll do about an hour. Of you’re not so good I’ll do two. And if you’re really bad I’m on for four and a half.”
He also did a joyful version of Singing In The Rain, complete with ad-libs and his own alterations.
A classic take on Winter Wonderland for Strictly Come Dancing reminded audiences he was more than just a one of the all-time great TV hosts, complete with a little fancy footwork of his own.
Coming from the old music hall traditions, Forsyth could tunr his hand to almost anything and was also a gifted pianist.

“Didn’t he do well?” may have been one of his greatest catchphrases but it was never a question in his own case.
Forsyth always did well, right to the very last.
Starting out in variety shows as Boy Bruce The Might Atom, he was listed in the Guinness Book of Records afor having longest television career of any male star.
