Camilla Parker Bowles: Duchess of Cornwall wears double dose of tartan on Scotland visit
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, was pictured spending time with a group of children in Aberdeenshire, Scotland today.
The 71-year-old, who joined the royal family back in 2005 after she married Prince Charles, 69, had paid a visit to Alford Community Campus,
The royal, who is known as the Duchess of Rothesay in Scotland, could be seen chatting with school children during the public engagement.
As well as trying her hand at a painting activity with the youngsters, during the day, Camilla also greeted kitchen staff.
The Duchess of Cornwall made a nod to the country’s traditional fabric, tartan, with her outfit choice today.
She stepped out in a stylish dress – made up of a red and grey tartan skirt and grey waistcoat.
The item featured a number of buttons, and underneath, the royal wore a white blouse, which featured a frilled collar.
As she posed in view of the world’s media outside the event, Camilla could be seen wearing a matching tartan scarf.
She sported the garment over her right shoulder.
The Duchess teamed her tartan number with a pair of black low-heeled shoes.
Camilla wore her short platinum locks in sleek curls, which grazed her shoulders.
She finished the aesthetic with a pair of running pearl drop earrings.
Following her visit, the royal was seen carrying a bouquet of vibrant orange and red flowers.
She waved at onlookers as she made her departure from the venue.
The Duchess of Cornwall hit the headlines last week, after she had reportedly said she wouldn’t be there to see her niece, Princess Eugenie, 28, marry Jack Brooksbank at Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel.
According to The Sun, Camilla had said she was unable to attend the second royal wedding of 2018, as she was already committed to visit a harvest festival event in Scotland that day.
A source told the publication that when the date for the wedding had been suggested, the senior royal had said “that regrettably she couldn’t come”.
Princess Eugenie and her fiancé announced their engagement back in January this year, and it is believed Camilla’s public engagement tomorrow had already been planned at that time, eight months ago.
The royal had been attending the premiere of musical event Requiem: The Souls of the Righteous.
