Camilla Parker Bowles makes nod to Prince Charles with jewellery for Trump state banquet

Camilla Parker-Bowles oozed elegance as she dazzled at a state banquet held for US President Donald Trump tonight. The Duchess of Cornwall, 71, gave a nod to her husband Prince Charles with her choice of jewellery, which many royal fans may recognise. Camilla dazzled in her diamond studded Greville Tiara, worth an estimated £2million to £3million. It glistened on top of her perfectly-styled blonde blow dry hair, and caught the light of the cameras as she arrived at Buckingham Palace.

Camilla walked with US Ambassador to the UK Woody Johnson, while the prince of Wales entertained Trump’s wife, Melania.

As the strolled through the entrance Camilla’s striking necklace, the Pink Topaz Demi-Parure, could clearly be seen.

Reportedly a gift from Prince Charles, this necklace features a huge pink topaz, five pearl strands and a diamond clasp.

Camilla has owned this piece for over a decade, and clearly decided the importance of the US visit was reason enough to wear it.

Aside from her jewellery, Camilla adhered to the white dress code seemingly adopted by the female royal guests.

Meanwhile, further details of her glistening tiara recently came to light.

The design was altered by The Queen Mother in 1953 which she had carried out by Cartier.

Deborah Papas, gemmologist and jewellery expert from Prestige Pawnbrokers of Channel 4’s Posh Pawn told Express.co.uk: “The main piece has three very large tapered diamonds rubover set in the centre of elongated hexagons which are pavé set with more diamonds.

The top “row” had five tapered rubover diamonds which were altered to a cluster of four diamonds and one extra marquise cut diamond for the centre giving it a grander “taller” feel.

“Although it is called the Greville tiara, it has been known to be called the Boucheron Honeycomb tiara after its creator.”
