Captain Marvel has debuted to a highly respectable 82 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie begins its worldwide opening today and to say fans are excited is an understatement. But many want to know if Captain Marvel, a groundbreaking film in its own way, will follow in its genre-bound duty of an after credits scene.

How many after credits’ scenes does Captain Marvel have?

If you want to be pedantic, Captain Marvel technically has one mid-credits scene and one after credits scene.

As for Captain Marvel’s actual after-credits scene, it is far more lighthearted in tone.

During Captain Marvel, Goose – the Flerken masquerading as a house cat – swallowed the Tesseract to keep it from falling into the hands of the Kree.

In the brief scene, Goose is sitting on Fury’s desk, in a time period which appears to be the early 00s given the context clue of the computer.

Goose begins to cough up what anyone would assume is a hairball.

Instead, he spits out the Tesseract and then licks his paw.
