Chelsea legend reveals how Jose Mourinho's Manchester United will lose on Sunday
Manchester United host Premier League leaders Chelsea this weekend and will seek to avenge two defeat by the Blues already this season.
Chelsea stunned Jose Mourinho’s men 4-0 at Stamford Bridge back in October last year and also edged the Red Devils 1-0 in the FA Cup last month.
Antonio Conte has been praised for his tactical revolution at Chelsea that has seen the west London club rise to the top of the league table.
And former Blues centre-back Desailly says Conte will outsmart Mourinho yet again.
“I’m not sure he will change much,” Desailly said of Conte.
“He will stay with a three (in defence). His tactical set-up can face any sort of team.
“You have to understand that Manchester United don’t like to have possession of the ball.
“They also like to play with speed and on the counter attack.
“I’m sure it’s going to be a very good game to watch but I think the first team that makes the mistake will pay straightaway defensively. And I think that will be Manchester United, honestly.
“It’s not because I’m more Chelsea than United, but the ability and the spirit today is more with Chelsea.”
United play Chelsea just three days after tonight’s clash with Anderlecht in the Europa League.
Yesterday midfielder Paul Pogba insisted the aim of the team is still to make the top four in the Premier League, even though they can qualify for next season’s Champions League by winning the Europa title.
“I came to United to do big challenges. It’s normal for United to play Champions League,” he said.
“We have everything to achieve it, we have the manager, the staff, the players.
“We have to go back to the Champions League. That’s the objective, that’s the big one. How would I like to do it? To be honest, I’d like to do it by finishing in the top four and winning the Europa League.”
Marcel Desailly was speaking at the TAG Heuer Premier League Pressure Test. TAG Heuer is the first ever Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of the Premier League.
