City News: Island Pools System commercia roll out and Cool Chile expands its product range
Its computerised disinfection E-system, which removes the need to top up water with large doses of chlorine and other harsh chemicals, is now ready for commercial roll-out, following four years of trials and successful safety tests with a hotel and a leisure centre in southern England, and an independent assessment by Southampton University.
The firm’s salt and heat conversion technology operates a closed-loop chemical process that is remotely monitored around the clock.
Founder Richard Morrison said: “With our unique solution there is no need to buy or store conventional disinfection chemicals or worry about handling hazards.
This is child-friendly, saves money and has a large potential market with 3,745 public pools in the UK alone.”

Cool Chile spices up its offering
Mexican food producer and importer Cool Chile has secured a £50,000 loan from Barclays that will enable it to expand its product range and distribution network, writes Maisha Frost.
The loan is being used to roll out new products such as a chipotle mayonnaise, ranchero (a tomato and coriander sauce) and a new smokey-flavoured pepper pastilla de oaxaca, which is rarely seen outside its home region.
A favourite among foodies and scratch cooks for its authentic ingredients, Cool Chile is also redesigning its packaging.
Managing director Kelly Peak says: “There is no slacking in the nation’s appetite for new flavours and cuisines and our aim is to make our ranges stand out and be as user-friendly as possible.”
