Michael B Jordan is here and he’s not afraid to pull some serious punches.

The trailer for Creed II has just been dropped by MGM for the sequel to the wildly successful Creed.

Creed, released in 2015, brought new lifeblood into the Rocky franchise.

Philly welcomed a new underdog into the boxing scene in the form of Apollo Creed, played by Black Panther star Michael B Jordan.

Now, three years later, Creed II trailer has arrived and you can watch it right here at Express.co.uk.

Creed II’s plot synopsis describes Creed’s attempt to balance his personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life.

Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring.

The trailer shows Michael B Jordan’s Apollo Creed taking a knock-out punch, and waking up in a hospital.

“We got this,” says Creed’s girlfriend Bianca (Tessa Tompson, Annihilation), with the first words of the trailer setting the tone.

“You got people that need you now,” Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) says, intercut with Creed holding a new baby.

“You got everything to lose,” Rocky says as he implores Creed not to fight a mystery opponent.

“You don’t think I can beat him?” Adonis replies, sounding almost hurt.

The Creed II trailer is less the story of an underdog overcoming insurmountable odds but instead of the way success, fame, and history can all come together to create a toxic environment you have to fight your way out of.

Michael B Jordan is fierce and formidable, Sylvester Stallone is wise and weary, Bianca is steady and solemn.

The rest of Creed II’s supporting cast includes Creed’s newest opponent – framed almost like a Marvel villain – Drago.

MGM’s official trailer synopsis continues: “Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family.

“Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history.”

Creed II is in US cinemas on November 21, 2018 and UK cinemas November 30, 2018.
