David Bowie and Donald Trump top UK poll of most wanted biopics BUT you won't BELIEVE No 1
This month we’ve seen First Man follow Neil Armstrong’s journey to the Moon and next week Bohemian Rhapsody arrives in cinemas looking at the life of Freddie Mercury.
Nevertheless there are tons of celebrities and historical figures who are yet to have biopics made about their lives.
But now ODEON have polled UK fans to discover Britain’s most wanted biopics.
And it turns out natural history documentarian Sir David Attenborough beat the singers and politicians.
The 92-year-old is best known for narrating BBC documentaries like Planet Earth but had an adventurous life which included wrestling wolves in Argentina and losing himself in the Amazon Forests.
Attenborough topped the poll with 37% of the vote, while Bowie came a close second at 30%.
Meanwhile, President Trump came 10th with 11% and Elton John, who’s getting his biopic Rocketman next year, came fifth with 16%.
Below is the complete Top 10.
THE UK’S MOST WANTED BIOPIC:
1. David Attenborough (37 per cent)
2. David Bowie (30 per cent)
3. J.K. Rowling (22 per cent)
4. Bob Marley (21 per cent)
5. Elton John (16 per cent)
6. Paul McCartney (16 per cent)
7. Madonna (13 per cent)
8. Meryl Streep (12 per cent)
9. Mick Jagger (12 per cent)
10. Donald Trump (11 per cent)
The first trailer for Rocketman arrived earlier this month starring Kingsman’s Taron Egerton as Elton John.
Billed as “a true fantasy”, the film also stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Jamie Bell and Bodyguard favourite Richard Madden.
Dexter Fletcher is the film’s director, with David Furnish – John’s spouse – among the producers.
Rocketman is released in UK cinemas on May 31, 2019.
