Disney films are well loved all over the world by young and old alike. With classics dating back to the 1930s, hardcore Disney fans will have a huge list of films to watch. As well as old classics, new shows and films including Star Wars and Marvel will also be able to stream on the service.

What films will be added to Disney+?

To list every film which will be added to Disney+ would mean listing more than 600 films, which could be fairly tricky.

But some of those films are particularly brilliant, classics even, which fans may have even forgotten existed.

The first Disney film ever made will be there, which is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs from 1937, as well as 1940’s Pinocchio, Fantasia (also including the Fantasia 2000), and 1941’s Dumbo and Bambi.

Of course, Cinderella (1950) will be available to stream, as well as Alice in Wonderland (1951), Peter Pan (1953), Lady and the Tramp (1955) and Sleeping Beauty (1959.)

It is not only animated movies which feature, as there will also be various versions of Swiss Family Robinson, Pollyanna (1960) and the original Shirley Temple version of The Parent Trap (1961,) along with Lindsey Lohan’s version from 1998.

The Incredible Journey (1963) and Mary Poppins (1964) will be available to stream, as well as The Sound of Music (1965) and Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971,) featuring a brilliant performance from the late, great Bruce Forsyth.

In the animated world, favourites including The Sword in the Stone (1963), The Jungle Book (1967), The Aristocats (1970) and Robin Hood (1973) are listed before we enter into the massive world of Star Wars movies.

Star Wars is one of the major franchises which will be included, with The Muppets, Pixar movies and Marvel also included.

A New Hope was released in 1977, and is in the epic list of movies, along with The Muppet Movie (1979), the first series of Spider-Man (1981) and even Tron, from 1982.

There is also a big helpful of Christmas movies, including The Christmas Star (1986) and both Miracle on 34th Street films, The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas (1994) and The Santa Clause (1994), meaning when December rolls round, fans will have plenty to watch.

Some forgotten Disney movies which will also appear in the list are The Black Cauldron (1985), Hocus Pocus (1993), Thumbelina (1994), Pocahontas (1995,) and some old-school Pixar favourites, such as A Bug’s Life (1998) and Monsters Inc (2001).

Robin Williams’ Flubber (1997) will also feature, as well as Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, James and the Giant Peach, My Favourite Martian (1999) and Inspector Gadget (1999) and The Princess Diaries (2001).

TV series will also be loaded up to the service, with 90s and 00s favourites Lizzie McGuire (2001), Recess (1997) and That’s So Raven (2003) finding a place on Disney+.

National Geographic will also be represented on the service, so shows such as Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan (2004) will make their streaming service debut.

That is not to mention the Marvel movies included on the list, of which there is every single movie, Tv series and carton – except those which are owned by Sony, such as the recent Spider-Man movies, which are more likely to be found on a service such as Netflix.

And, with so many upcoming Marvel and Star Wars TV series slated for release, the service will be forever adding new content.

Needless to say, the list is huge, with every movie listed on the Disney+ Twitter page.

When can I get Disney+ ?

Disney+ is available from November 12 in the USA, however there has not been a date released for the UK.

However, fans need not fear as there are hints which suggest the streaming service will be available from early 2020.

The Mandalorian, the latest Star Wars TV series, will be shown exclusively through the service, and a tweet from the Star Wars UK Twitter account stated the show would be “coming to you early 2020.”

As they are speaking to UK fans, this bodes well for the UK getting access to Disney+ before the show comes out, meaning it must be available at the latest 2020.
