Disney Plus UK release date: When will Disney Plus come to UK? How much is it?
Disney+ is the new streaming platform from Disney, which will host a huge range of content from various universes. From Marvel and National Geographic to Disney and Star Wars, fans have flocked to watch the latest content from these outlets. But when is Disney Plus coming to the UK, and how much will it cost for subscribers?
Luckily for Disney fans everywhere, the date for the arrival of Disney+ has been pushed forward.
In a tweet released by the @Disney_UK account, they revealed Star Wars fans will get the chance to watch The Mandalorian a whole week earlier than expected.
The tweet read: “Someone, somewhere pulled some strings (or pushed some buttons) and now #DisneyPlus will be available in the UK & Ireland sooner than expected!
“Start streaming March 24. Sign up for more information.”

This is only a week early, which has been reported to be due to the amount of pirate streaming going on of The Mandalorian.
Tom Harrington at Enders Analysis told the BBC Disney want “to get The Mandalorian out there before even more people pirate it,” suggesting the wait has left some fans impatiently streaming it.
However, the price of the the platform is pretty competitive, and will not be anywhere near as expensive as its competitors in Netflix or Amazon Prime.
Mr Harrington added: “The UK price was predictable given the aggressive US charge and the trend of a race to the bottom in terms of price – none of these services are going to make money for years.”
The charge is £5.99 a month, or £59.99 a year, which averages out at £4.99 a month, which is cheaper than the full package with Netflix or Amazon Prime.
Netflix’s basic plan costs this amount, however this does not allow HD or 4K renderings of films and TV.
Their pricing plans differ from £5.99 to £11.99 a month, which gives different resolutions and number of screens available to watch at a time.
Sky’s NOW TV platform charges an extra £3 a month fee for users who wish to watch their films and TV in higher resolution.
NOW TV also charges different prices for different packages, which cost between £3.99 and £11.99 a month, with the most expensive being for movies.
For Prime Video, it costs £7.99 a month or £79 for the year, which averages out at £6.60 a month.
However, in this bundle users also get free delivery with Amazon products, as well as free eBooks and Amazon Prime Music.
Of course, for those into Disney content, the £5.99 will not seem like much at all to get all of what the platform offers.
What will be available on Disney+?
On Disney+, fans will be able to watch all Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, Disney and Pixar content.
This includes many TV series and movies which have recently been removed from other platforms, meaning it will be exclusive.
As well as that, Disney Plus will also replace the previous DisneyLife platform, which was £1 cheaper per month but did not have the same amount of content on it.
Nonetheless, if the platform is as popular as it has been in the USA, it is likely fans will be downloading Disney+ left, right and centre when it becomes available.
Disney Plus is available in the UK on March 24, for £5.99 a month of £59.99 for a year’s subscription
