Dunkirk: Harry Styles’ acting REVEALED in latest trailer as he finally gets a line – WATCH

The star is understood to have a supporting role in the new Christopher Nolan epic, starring alongside heavyweights like Kenneth Branagh, Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy and Mark Rylance.

Previous trailers have shown glimpses of him on the beach and having trouble in the water, but now we can hear him speak for the first time.

He seems to be saying: “Somebody’s got to get off this so the rest of us can live.”

The film certainly won’t be for the faint-of-heart, and Styles and his co-star Fionn Whitehead recently spoke about the intense filming process.

“It’s not ‘pretend there’s an explosion going off over here’ – it’s all going on,” Styles recalled of the beach scenes.

“I think that just means you get natural reactions to stuff.”

Of Nolan, he beamed: “He leads by example so much. He’s like the first one there, the last one to leave.”

Whitehead said: “I was coming out onto the beach and there was 1300 extras dressed in battle gear, there was spitfires flying overhead, destroyers overhead, the beach was set-dressed, and there were explosions going off in the sand.

“It was just so real. It was the closest you can come to putting yourself in that situation, and the pure panic and terror.”

Nolan himself said of his young stars: “The traditional thing in Hollywood movies is to cast 28, 29, 30-year-olds and pretend they’re younger.

“We wanted kids who would experience these events the way people would have at the time. We needed interesting fresh faces to do that.”

Dunkirk is out on July 21.
