Fifty Shades Freed’s Jamie Dornan swaps Dakota Johnson for Jemima Kirke with new movie

The former Christian Grey plays Nick in the drama Untogether, directed by Emma Forrest and co-starring Jemima Kirke.

The film is about an affair between the two characters, as well as the relationships between Kirke’s on-screen and off-screen sister Lola Kirke and her older boyfriend, played by Ben Mendelsohn.

Billy Crystal, Jennifer Grey and Alice Eve will also star; with the film set to be shown several times this week as part of the Tribeca Film Festival.

A clip premiered by Deadline shows a tense conversation between Dornan’s Nick and Kirke’s Andrea, which ends with the latter walking away.

Untogether will be Dornan’s first release since Fifty Shades Freed, his third and final film working with Dakota Johnson.

Also on his slate are a new telling of Robin Hood, which filmed last year, and A Private War.

He’ll also soon be seen in the TV film My Dinner With Hervé, which will also feature Peter Dinklage, Andy Garcia and Harriet Walter.

What’s more, last week bookies revealed that he is considered an outside contender to take up the role of James Bond after Daniel Craig.

With Coral, Dornan has odds of 16/1 – making him the joint ninth favourite alongside Michael Fassbender.

Given more likely chances are James Norton (5/2), Tom Hardy (3/1), Jack Huston (5/1) and Idris Elba (6/1).

Aidan Turner (8/1), Harry Styles (8/1), Tom Hiddleston (10/1) and “any female” (12/1) are also generating interest.

Johnson also has a handful of projects on the go: she’s filmed a role in thriller Suspiria, which she revealed in a recent interview made her need therapy.

Johnson’s other upcoming credits include The Peanut Butter Falcon, and an untitled thriller alongside Armie Hammer and Zazie Beetz.

The movie began principle photography earlier this month and is said to be on a fast-track for release next March.
