Freddie Mercury outrageous revelation: Mary Austin refused to tolerate THIS in bed
Freddie Mercury and Mary Austin shared a very special love for their whole adult lives. Their romantic relationship ended in December 1976 but Freddie always maintained she remained the “love of my life.” One of the reasons the Queen frontman loved her so much was her complete acceptance of who he was. However, even Mary drew the line at some of Freddie’s more extreme behaviour.
Freddie loved to be outrageous in interviews and he once spilt the beans about something which “plays havoc with my sex life.”
He said; “One night when Mary and I lived together, I woke up in the middle of the night and a song just wouldn’t go away.
I just had to sit down and write it, so I got up and dragged my piano over to the bedside so I could reach the keyboard.”
She may have always come across as rather mild-mannered but it’s not hard to imagine Mary’s reaction…

Freddie added; “That didn’t last long – she wouldn’t put up with it. And I can’t say I’m surprised!
“Inspiration strikes anywhere. It strikes me when I’m least expecting it and it plays havoc with my sex life.
“I can get inspiration just sitting in the bath.”
That, no doubt, is an image, millions of Freddie fans will cherish. Their idol spoke often about what inspired his songs, but it all ultimately boiled down to one simple thing.
FREDDIE MERCURY REVEALED THE SPECIAL GIFT FROM MARY WHICH PROVED WHY HE LOVED HER SO MUCH
New book Freddie Mercury: A Life, In His Own Words has gathered many of the icon’s greatest interviews and quotes together and fashioned them into a form of autobiography.
In it, he also sums up the essence of his songwriting: “If you put them all in one bag, I think my songs are all under the label ‘Emotion.’ It’s all to do with love and emotion and feeling. It’s all about moods.
“Most of the songs I write are love ballads and things to do with sadness and torture and pain, but at the same time it’s frivolous and togue-in-cheek.
“That’s basically my whole nature, I guess. I’ma true romantic.”
