Frozen 2: Disney sequel 'PUSHES' Elsa and Anna to 'places they may not be comfortable'

“Some of that is also inspired by our own children,” he continued. “Our kids are all growing up and they’re still the same kids, the same personalities.

“But now they have all these challenges ahead of them, all these steps into the unknown, all that, which are exciting.

“So, you can look at their lives and be inspired by that.

“And also not being afraid to take risks when it comes to our characters and the story and pushing them to places where perhaps they may not feel comfortable but we know they’re capable of,” he smiled.

It looks as though Elsa, Anna and the rest of the gang could be in for a darker adventure in the second movie as the filmmakers push their characters forwards into tougher challenges.

Meanwhile, Lee said she hopes fans walk out of the movie “pleasantly surprised”.
