Frozen 2 release date MOVED: Sequel will hit cinemas EARLIER than planned

Disney’s follow-up to the 2013 phenomenon is getting a sequel in 2019, six years after becoming a record-breaking sensation.

The good news for fans is that the wait for the next adventure with Anna and Elsa will be ever-so-slightly shorter.

The Hollywood Reporter claims Disney have nudged it forward to November 22; one week earlier than its original November 29 due date.

A UK date has yet to be officially unveiled, but is expected to be at around the same time.

“I have recorded the movie,” she told Ellen earlier this year.

“There will be edits before it’s finished.

“I know the songs, I know the story — it’s very good!”

Frozen also got its Broadway adaptation this year; receiving mixed reviews from critics.

The New York Times called it “rousing, often dull, alternately dopey”; with the new specially-added songs coming under fire.

It still picked up three Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score.

The 2013 film grossed $1.26 billion at the worldwide box office; still the highest ever for an animated movie – although Incredibles 2 came very close to beating it earlier this year.

Frozen 2 is out on November 22, 2019.
