Game of Thrones audition tape: Kit Harington meets How To Train Your Dragon's Toothless
Next April, Harington returns for the final season of Game of Thrones. The 31-year-old actor has played Jon Snow in the series since its debut in 2011. And now a parody of his audition tape for “Untitled Fantasy TV Drama” has been released by Universal Pictures. The skit sees Harrington play a younger version of himself auditioning opposite a potential dragon actor.
But this isn’t just any dragon, it’s Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon.
However, the mischievous beast isn’t exactly helpful, knocking Harington over with enthusiasm.
Toothless isn’t exactly impressed with Harington’s acting and ends up mocking him behind his back, even though the actor gave him some salmon.
The video coincides with the upcoming release of How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.
Harington reprises his role as Eret, a character introduced in the second film; a dragon trapper who sells captured dragons to the warlord Drago.
The third film’s synopsis reads: “After becoming the chief of Berk, Hiccup has fulfilled his dream of creating a peaceful dragon utopia, while the sudden discovery of a wild, elusive mate lures Toothless away.
“When danger threatens their village and tests Hiccup’s reign as chief, Hiccup and Toothless are forced to leave the only home they know.”
It adds: “As they travel to a hidden world thought to only exist in myth, both dragon and rider will fight together to the very end to protect everything they love.”
Dean Dubois, the writer and director of the trilogy, told The Hollywood Reporter: “There are certain characters and situations that come into play in the second film that will become much more crucial to the story by the third.
“Other threads from the first will begin to pay themselves off in the second. It’s my way of guaranteeing that it is not another adventure that we throw the same five or six characters into, that it feels like part of a larger story.”
How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World will be released in UK cinemas on February 1.
