Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2’s MASSIVE plot hole – Did you spot it?
While the new Guardians film has been released this year, director James Gunn decided to set it a few months after the first film in October 2014.
However since the other movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are set when they are released, the likes of Screenrant and Comicbook.com and fans generally have spotted something of a plot hole.
Those who have seen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 will remember a couple of scenes back on Earth.
When Ego’s expansion of himself begins there with a rumbling great mass moving across our planet, residents of a small Missouri town run in fear.
Of course we know that Star-Lord and co save the day, but since the movie is set in 2014, where exactly were Earth’s heroes to lend a hand?
Neither the Avengers and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – both active in 2014 – do not acknowledge the event.
Of course Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 wasn’t made until three years later, but surely there could have been a small cameo?
Another explanation is that since it was a small Missouri town, maybe the event went unnoticed by the time the Guardians stopped it?
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL 2 END CREDITS SCENE – WHO IS ADAM?
That or it’s just a plot hole that Marvel were hoping would go mainly unnoticed.
Who knows, maybe it will be referenced by the Avengers in next year’s Avengers: Infinity War?
