Halloween 2018: Movie fans given this WARNING as Jamie Lee Curtis horror is released

People planning to see the new Jamie Lee Curtis offering have been told NOT to turn up in masks, or with fake weapons.

AMC, a chain of theatres in the USA, reminded moviegoers in a statement that while costumes are welcome, usual rules still apply.

“In the spirit of Halloween, and costumes, we at AMC love it when our guests dress up for the occasion,” they said.

“But a reminder that weapons, real or fake, and masks are not permitted at AMC.

“So come to HALLOWEEN at AMC prepared for a scary great time, and leave the mask at home!”

Halloween has had very good reviews from critics – and has an 82% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

“Halloween largely wipes the slate clean after decades of disappointing sequels, ignoring increasingly elaborate mythology in favor of basic – yet still effective – ingredients,” the consensus reads.

Curtis has spoken very positively of her time making the new film, which is poised for a big box office debut.

“Every single thing that I have in my professional life came from that [original 1978] movie, and I am flabbergasted that, at almost kissing 60, I get to sit here and talk about a movie that I made 40 years ago,” she said on James Corden’s chatshow.

“It is absolutely incredible. It’s just magic.”

She added: “Every second has been magic. Even the hard seconds.

“Life is hard sometimes for people, and in horror movies it’s hard for people — like, really hard for people. Like the worst hard!

“I must tell you, the fans of this genre have given me my creative life.

“I’ve had opportunities to do other stuff, but far and away, when I’m dead and gone, it will be ‘Halloween Actress Dies,’ and I will be proud that that is in the paper.”

Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Paton, Virginia Gardner and Nick Castle also star.

Halloween is out now.
