Halloween after credits scene: Don’t miss THIS terrifying end credits sequel hint

The horror movie, starring Jamie Lee Curtis, is hitting cinemas on a wave of hype and huge critical acclaim.

So could bosses be tempted to make another sequel if its box office receipts are as good as they’re expected to be?

If the credits are anything to go by, the door is very much open.

While Halloween does not, strictly speaking, have an end credits scene; it DOES have one very unnerving hint at future plans.

WARNING: Spoilers for Halloween ahead.

After the final credit has rolled, the music cuts out and the sound changes to the chillingly recognisable breathing of Michael Myers.

At the end of the film, he is locked in the basement of a burning house – seemingly killed once and for all by Laurie Strode (Curtis) and her family.

But is this a big sign that he survived?

Halloween is expected to do big business at the box office – Universal estimates put it at around $50 million but there are some industry forecasters who think $70 million is perfectly reasonable in the US alone.

Should it get as high as $80 million, it could top Venom’s record for the best October opening in box office history – a record the Tom Hardy caper only managed two weeks ago.

David Gordon Green and Danny McBride had initially intended to film two Halloween sequels back-to-back.

McBride told Entertainment Weekly: “Then we were like, Well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. This could come out, and everyone could hate us, and we’d never work again.

“‘So, let’s not have to sit around for a year while we wait for another movie to come out that we know people aren’t going to like.’

“So, we were like, ‘let’s learn from this, and see what works, and what doesn’t’.

“But we definitely have an idea of where we would go [with] this branch of the story and hopefully we get a chance to do it.”

A cinema chain in the US has warned fans not to show up to watch Halloween in the iconic Michael Myers masks, or to come with toy weapons.

Halloween is out now.
