Han Solo movie: Is Qi'ra Rey's MOTHER? Four massive clues in latest Star wars movie

The Han Solo movie has finally opened and is basking in a warm critical reception and a strong box office debut.

It also has the luxury of being removed from teh ongoing fan wars over the reception to The Last Jedi.

Except, it sudenly seems that it might be very closely tied to the biggest remaining mystery from Star Wars 7 and 8.

Who are Rey’s parents and have we just met one or both of them?

The moment images of the brunette Qi’ra started emerging, rumours started flying. This was reinforced when it became clear there could be some kind of relationship situation with Han.

1. THEY HAD SEX: Fans will now know that Han and Qi’ra get involved and although Star Wars shies away from adult content, the romp in Lando’s closet implies a sexual relationship was beginning.

Other fans have already pointed out that this is too soon for Rey to be conceived, since the action takes place around a decade before A New Hope and much longer before The Force Awakens.

However, even the late, great Carrie Fisher pointed out that Han was a wanderer in every sense of the word and their marriage was full of breaks and long periods when they were both busy in different parts of the galaxy.

Han and Qi’ra coudl have connected once or more in the time after Han and Leia became involved.

2. HAN’S CONNECTION TO REY: Han and Rey shared an immediate connection and both had an incredible instinct for flying. Han’s relationship with Rey was blatantly paternal (or as much as the gruff smuggler was ever capable of) throughout Star Wars 7.

Of course, this could also be explained if Rey’s was Qi’ra’s daughter only, but not Han’s. She would still remind him of his former love.

This would also simplify the growing sexual tension between Kylo Ren and Rey. Star Wars has famously flirted with incest before, but nobody wants to see Kylo and Rey and siblings now.

There are also theories that Kylo is not Han’s son and Leia had an affair.

3. REY WAS ABANDONED: Her orphaning on Jakku and even Kylo’s unverified claim that her parents were lowlives fit the theory.

Qi’ra is a woman who seems to flirt with danger and could have many reasons to go on the run. This would necessitate leaving a young daughter hidden on an obscure planet.

Kylo told Rey her parents were “filthy junk traders who sold you off for drinking money.”

Qi’ra might have fallen so far over the years or Kylo could be twisting and exaggerating her unsavoury past.

4. QI’RA AND KIRA: When the final Star Wars trilogy was being planned and laid out, the name Kira was used for a certain feisty female wannabee jedi.

This was either the original name for Rey or her codename. Either way, it suddenly seems an enormous coincidence that it is identical to the woman many now think is her mother.

That, or the filmmakers simply liked the name and found anther use for it when they had the chance….
