Harry Potter: JK Rowling meeting with Warner Bros – Are they planning Cursed Child MOVIE?

The eighth story in the Harry Potter canon became a stage play two years ago, debuting in London’s West End.

Now Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has hit Broadway, with JK Rowling attending last weekend’s opening day.

With renewed interest in the hit play, fans have been wondering if it will eventually be adapted into a movie with the franchise’s original cast.

Well interestingly Rowling has revealed she’s been having a meeting with Warner Bros.

The Harry Potter author tweeted: “I’m in a meeting with Warner Bros and I can’t really concentrate because look.”

Accompanying her cryptic work are a picture of her left hand open with a tiny LEGO figure of a Niffler, one of the magical creatures who starred in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

With news of a meeting with the Hollywood Studio, some fans are getting a little overexcited at the prospect it could have something to do with a Cursed Child movie.

One fan tweeted, “Talking about Cursed Child film”, which received both a lot of love and hate from others.

Another fan wrote: “This will not exist nor should it!”

While a more confident user tweeted: “I guess it’s happening.”

Of course it’s possible, especially with a meeting so soon after the Cursed Child premiered on Broadway.

Nevertheless Rowling is holding a figurine of a Fantastic Beasts character, so perhaps they were discussing The Crime of Grindelwald and its merchandise – which releases this Christmas – or the next sequel in the franchise.

While Warner Bros previously told Express.co.uk there are no plans for a Cursed Child movie, one producer we interviewed hopes it will become a reality.
