“James Bond is one of those franchises where it’s never not cool. You could literally make the naffest James Bond in the world and it would still be cool,” she added.

Clarke is best known as the Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen, is Game of Thrones and has also appeared in Me Before You and Terminator Genisys.

This festive season, she will be starring as the leading lady in Paul Feig’s rom com Last Christmas opposite fellow potential new Bond, Henry Golding.
