James Bond No Time To Die budget most EXPENSIVE ever plus Lashana Lynch on that 007 'LEAK'

Come April next year and James Bond fans will be treated to No Time To Die, Daniel Craig’s fifth and final outing in the 007 franchise. It’s been five years since Spectre and Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has promised a film more sensitive to a post-Me Too era.

Gone are the Bond girls, as “fully realised” Bond women Nomi (Lashana Lynch) and Paloma (Ana de Armas) enter the fray alongside Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who was brought on to work on the script – only the second woman in the franchise’s history after Johanna Harwood (Dr No, From Russia with Love) to be credited as a writer.

Now in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, it’s been revealed that No Time To Die is the most expensive Bond movie to date, with a ballooning budget of $250 million, topping Spectre’s initial costs by $5 million.

The film has also long been rumoured to see Craig’s 007 codename inherited by Lynch’s Nomi, since Bond retired at the end of the last film.

The outlet reports that Lynch won’t confirm the alleged leak, however, Bond sources claim that it is accurate.

Beyond Craig’s final outing, there’s the question of Bond 26 and rebooting the franchise as usual.

There have been rumours over the last few years of a Bond cinematic universe, so Nomi as 007 could be a spin-off there.

But it’s very unlikely she would be “the new Bond” as already established.

When Bond 26 comes around no doubt there will be a new male actor in the role as James Bond 007, but perhaps a while after a Nomi 007 spin-off.

Meanwhile, Daniel Craig has teased what fans can expect in No Time To Die.

Speaking with The Sunday Times, he said: “Every day has an intensity to it. We’re trying to make the best f***ing Bond movie we can. Pulling out all the stops.

“If we aim for the stars, we might hit the treetops.”

No Time To Die is released in UK cinemas on April 2, 2020.
