James Bond trailer: Who does Christoph Waltz play in No Time to Die? Is Blofeld back?
James Bond is finally coming back after a long wait for fans since the last film, Spectre. By the time No Time to Die comes out in cinemas, it will have been four years since we last saw the spy with a Licence to Kill don a tuxedo and fight the bad guys. Now the first full length trailer has dropped, fans have been left asking one big question:
James Bond fans have been streaming the trailer madly since it was released on the official 007 Twitter account.
In the trailer, we get a glimpse of why James has been brought back itno active service with MI6 – and it is all to do with his lover, Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux.)
It turns out she has been keeping secrets, one of which is linked to the villain of the piece, played by Rami Malek.
However, another villain returns in a shocking turn of events – Blofeld.
In the trailer, Bond arrives at a high security prison to speak to his old nemesis, Blofeld, who is sittin in a cell.
He taunts Bond, reminding him how he gave up his spy life to be with Madeleine, only for her to have betrayed him later.
What is unclear is, as Blofeld is the mastermind of crime, if he is behind all of the new dangers to face Bond and MI6.
Fans will also get a glimpse of Ana de Armas, though she remains a mystery character.
The trailer opens with Bond driving away from terrifying gunfire, with his long term partner, Madeleine, in the car with him.
He is furious as it is revealed that her “secrets” have caught up with her, meaning he has given up his life as a 007 agent for nothing.
Soon, however, he is required to rejoin when Felix (Jeffrey Wright) meets him in a bar, telling him there is a specific mission for which he is the only agent.
MI6’s M (Ralph Fiennes) tells him that times have changed, and now the technology against them is so strong, they are struggling to keep threats at bay.
Soon enough, Bond is back inthe fold, but not before he is forced to confront his jilted lover again – Madeleine – who seems to now be in cahoots with MI6.
However, she is not the only woman to be causing him trouble on his return – his moniker has been stolen by a new agent, Nomi (Lashana Lynch) who tells him to “keep out of my way” otherwise she will be forced to remove him.
There is clearly some sexual tension between them, though Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) is there to try and keep them apart, with help from the technology nerd Q (Ben Whishaw.)
The most frightening villain, however, is still to arrive, and he seems to have links to Madeleine Swann.
Rami Malek’s character, Safin, is disfirgured, and seems to sport a half-broken white mask to do some of his misdeeds.
But it seems he may be part of a larger organisation, as Madeleine also has the same mask.
