Jamie Dornan ‘won’t EVER’ sign up for Fifty Shades Freed style movie again

The star played alongside Dakota Johnson in the R-rated trilogy, which came to a close earlier this year with the release of Fifty Shades Freed. And despite a total panning from almost all critics, the franchise overall managed to gross over $1.3 billion worldwide.

Speaking to Vulture, Dornan looked back fondly on his time as Christian Grey, but said that he’ll likely steer clear of similar projects in the future.

“They’re perceived the way they’re perceived,” he said. “Critically, that’s not very favourably.

“But they made a lot of money, and as studio pictures go, they’re pretty unique.

“To speak for myself, and I’ll speak for Dakota as well, it’s another job on another set.”

He added: “I probably won’t ever take a job with this much attention and scrutiny and public opinion directed at it again. And that’s fine!

“From a practical point of view, you just move on to the next and keep your head down.

“But listen, it’s given us so much. The work that I’ve been doing has been a million miles from that, and not even by choice.

“You just keep plugging away, doing good work, and trying to better yourself.”

Johnson has kept very busy too, with the release of new movies Bad Times At The El Royale and Suspiria.

Dornan will this weekend will be seen in a new blockbuster retelling of Robin Hood, but sadly the reviews have been anything but glowing.

The star is also returning to the small screen in major BBC Two drama Death and Nightingales.

Robin Hood is out on Friday.
