He has appeared on the Sunday Times Rich List and made his fortune with the help of his cookbooks, restaurant chain and television appearances.
Jamie showed he always had a love for cooking and started his career as a pastry chef at Antonio Carluccio’s.
After gaining experience in Italian cooking, he moved to The River Café where he worked as a sous-chef before being spotted for TV.
An appearance in a BBC documentary filmed at the restaurant gave Jamie his big break and he starred in three series of Naked Chef on BBC.
After moving to Channel 4, he starred in a documentary series which followed him as he set up a restaurant in London.
Jamie soon branched out into developing his own restaurants and opened the high street chain, Jamie’s Italian, in 2008.
Although there were 42 restaurants at the peak of the business, many of these were later closed as the company fell into debt.
Over the years, he has made a fortune by releasing a number of cookbooks which has helped him become the best-selling British non-fiction author on records.
