Kate Middleton headband: How Duchess breathed new life into this outdated accessory
Female members of the Royal Family can prompt flurries in sales of outfits they wear – none so more than Kate, Duchess of Cambridge. Nearly everything the royal mum wears seems to sell out online. So it is no surprise Prince William’s wife is steering the revival of an accessory many believed was dead – the headband.
The royal mum-of-three has shown headbands aren’t just for schoolgirls or 50’s housewives but are a must-have fashion item.
Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, 37, has helped revive an accessory previously favoured by fellow royal Grace Kelly.
While headbands have traditionally had frumpy connotations, Kate has wowed in brightly coloured bands at several royal occasions.
Far from making her look infantile, they add a chic touch to all of her outfits.

The Duchess likes to pair her headbands with the shade of the outfit she is wearing.
Alice bands can provide a welcome splash of colour and are half the hassle of a hat.
Kate has worn the hot hair accessory to several high profile engagements in recent years.
From baby Archie Harrison’s christening to an Armistice Day service, these are Kate’s best headband moments in pictures.
