Kate Middleton: Will Duchess of Cambridge top Meghan's show-stopping Royal Variety look?
The Duchess and Duke of Cambridge will be attending the Royal Variety Performance at the Palladium Theatre tonight.
The annual event is in aid of the Royal Variety Charity, of which the Queen is Patron, and the money raised from the show helps hundreds of entertainers throughout the UK, who need help and assistance as a result of old age, ill-health or hard times.
The evening will be hosted by comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan and will include performances from Sir Rod Stewart, the cast of Mary Poppins, Lewis Capaldi, Mabel, Robbie Williams, the cast of Come From Away, and a special collaboration by Emeli Sandé and Manchester’s Bee Vocal choir.
Kate and William last attended the royal bash back in 2017 and 2014, with Kate wowing in gowns by her favourite designers such as Jenny Packham and Diane von Furstenberg. So, all eyes will be on Kate tonight to see if she will bring the glamour just like her sister-in-law Meghan Markle did last year.
Last year, Meghan Markle and Harry attended the prestigious event for the first time together and the Duchess of Sussex chose to wear an incredible monochrome ensemble by Safiyaa.
The dress that Meghan wore had a black and white sequinned halter top by London-based designer Safiyaa, which retailed for £895, as she cradled her growing baby bump.

The £895 asymmetric peplum style features a sparky leaf design and Meghan has teamed the look with a skirt by Safiyaa, too.
The Duchess paired the floor-length look with a black box bag and one of her favourite pieces of jewellery – her Birks snowflake earrings.
The breathtaking diamonds were worth approximately £7,000.
Clearly the Duchess of Sussex took some style tips from Kate’s Royal Variety look the year before, as in 2017 Kate impressed in a floor-length sparkly dress.
The incredible floor-length powder blue dress Kate wore to the 2017 show was designed by one of her go-to British fashion designers, Jenny Packham, she embodied the true image of a fairytale princess in this dress and dazzled on the night.
The dress was one-sleeved with a gorgeous sweetheart neckline and a sheer layer on top, the dress featured stunning embellishments, sequins, diamonds and flowers all over.
She finished the sparkly look with the Casa Crystal clutch by the same designer, a pair of Oscar de la Rents high heels and the Queen’s diamond earrings.

Kate has been to two Royal Variety performances and has stunned each time, just like Meghan last year, when Kate attended the last performances she was pregnant. First in 2014 with her second child Princess Charlotte and the most recent attendance she was expecting her third child Prince Louis in 2017.
When Kate first attended the bash in 2014, she opted for a more demure look than her last but equally stunning and, as always, elegant.
The dress that the Duchess chose to wear was, again, floor-length, however, the first time she opted for a black gown with lace detailing, a nipped-in waist and a boat neck by American designer, Diane von Furstenberg.
She wore her hair back at the nape of her neck to show off her killer diamond earrings for the occasion.
The origins of the Royal Variety Performance date back to 1912 when King George V and Queen Mary agreed to attend a ‘Royal Command Performance’ at the Palace Theatre in London, in aid of the Variety Artistes’ Benevolent Fund (now the Royal Variety Charity).
Last week, Kate took some fashion tips from Her Majesty the Queen as she was pictured stepping out in a bright purple, two-piece designed by, Oscar De La Renta, which is remarkably similar to an outfit that the Queen has previously worn.
It was reported recently that the Queen is over-the-moon with the way Kate presents herself in public and a royal family expert revealed that the Queen loves that the Duchess of Cambridge “is ordinary and doesn’t get uptight”.
