Labour crisis: Corbyn branded ‘worst leader Labour has ever had’ by his own MPs
Ian Austin joined forces with a group of Labour MPs – past and present – to urge Mr Corbyn to “detach himself from the cult” after a new poll revealed he is now less popular than Lib Dem leader Jo Swinson who is actively trying to cancel Brexit. The ballot found that when the British public was asked who would make the best Prime Minister, 41 percent said current Tory leader Boris Johnson, 21 percent said Ms Swinson and just 18 percent said Mr Corbyn, the Daily Telegraph repots. Mr Austin said: “This confirms what the vast majority of Labour MPs know in their hearts to be true: that Jeremy Corbyn is the worst leader Labour has ever had and that he is completely unfit to lead the party or the country.”
The independent MP added: “He is not only completely incapable of leadership, but has spent his entire time working with all sorts of extremists, his views are completely out of step with the vast majority of the public and he has allowed the party to be poisoned by racism and extremism.”
The poll result came after the publication of his bizarre policies from the Labour Party conference in Brighton that ended on Monday.
Examples are how Mr Corbyn’s party will shut down all private schools urge managers to have proper medical training to deal with menopausal women.
On the eve of the conference the party even tried to oust their own deputy Tom Watson, while he was at home caring for his children.
After the three days that added to the current three years of dilly-dallying on Brexit, the party finally agreed to “let the people decide” and attempt to force through a so-called People’s Vote on the matter, that would of course include an option for a second referendum.
John Mann, who is strongly believed to be standing down soon after 18 years as a Labour MP, said: “This just shows that Jeremy Corbyn’s message is not cutting through.
“He needs to detach from the cult following around him and get in amongst the general public.
“That he should poll so badly against Boris Johnson – who isn’t exactly enjoying his finest hour – is really not encouraging at all.”

The policy agreed in Brighton at the conference suggests that if the Labour Party win power in a general election, they would remain neutral while negotiating a new deal with the European Union within three months.
The party would then give the decision back to the British people within six months on whether to accept the newly negotiated deal, or vote to Remain, while the party would decide which side to back at a special conference.
Some MPs were quick to insist they would campaign to Remain despite what had been decided by delegates. Labour MP for Tottenham, David Lammy, wrote on Twitter: “Hands up if you will be campaigning for Remain in a confirmatory referendum.”
And prior to the key vote on Monday, shadow foreign secretary Emily Thornberry told activists in Brighton: “With your endorsement today, conference, with the instructions that I hope you give us today, I believe we must strive night and day, whatever it takes, to keep Britain in the European Union.”
Labour MEPs, including Theresa Griffin and Richard Corbett were also quick to demand another Brexit vote, and called for the party to Remain and Reform the European Union.
