The Reds got off to a shocking start when Wijnaldum’s misplaced backpass was tucked away by Benik Afobe, but Philippe Coutinho squared things up on the stroke of half-time with a tidy finish.
Divock Origi then put Liverpool into the lead when the 21-year-old headed in Wijnaldum’s inviting cross, before Josh King levelled late on for the Cherries.
