Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho to sell David de Gea: This will be his replacement
De Gea, 26, has been heavily linked with a move away from Manchester United with Real apparently interested in securing his signature.
The La Liga giants are apparently keen to replace Keylor Navas and Zinedine Zidane has earmarked De Gea as his No 1 transfer target.
Real came close to signing the Spain international in 2015 but an administrative error scuppered his move.
However, Portuguese outlet Correio de Manha claim Mourinho is ready to grant Real their long-awaited wish to sign De Gea.
It is claimed Mourinho is prepared to offload David de Gea for £74million.
And it is suggested that the Special One has already picked Benfica keeper Ederson as his replacement.
Ederson, 23, apparently has a £52m release clause inserted into his contract – which runs until 2023.
But Correio de Manha say Benfica will accept around £26m for the Brazil Under-23 international.
Ederson has been in impressive form for the Portuguese side this season, keeping 18 clean sheets in 27 Liga NOS matches.
And Mourinho is said to view him as De Gea’s successor between the sticks at Old Trafford.
However, he could face competition for the No 1 spot next season with Sergio Romero impressing Mourinho in recent weeks.
Mourinho revealed he intends to start Romero in the Europa League final against Ajax next week in Stockholm.
