Margot Robbie opens up on sex scene with Leonardo DiCaprio in Wolf of Wall Street
The actress starred alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in the film, which helped to send her Hollywood career stratospheric. But the sex scene, which took place in her character’s baby’s nursery, was – she says – an odd experience to shoot. And it’s not hard to see why.
“It doesn’t come across when you’re watching the movie, but in reality we’re in a tiny bedroom with 30 crew crammed in,” she told Porter.
Asked if the crew were mostly men, she answered: “All men.
“And for 17 hours I’m pretending to be touching myself.”
She added: “It’s just a very weird thing and you have to bury the embarrassment and absurdity, really deep, and fully commit.”
The Wolf of Wall Street, released in 2013, was nominated for five Academy Awards; with DiCaprio winning the Golden Globe for Best Actor – Motion Picture or Comedy.
Robbie was lauded too: she won Best Female Newcomer at the Empire Awards for her work.
She has a lot of exciting projects on the horizon, the next being Mary Queen Of Scots alongside Saorise Ronan.
She’s also signed up for Birds of Prey, a new DC caper in which she’ll reprise the role of Harley Quinn.
Other works include playing Sharon Tate in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, and a voice role in The Lego Movie 2.
The star was Academy Award-nominated herself earlier this year for playing Tonya Harding in I, Tonya.
Mary Queen Of Scots is out on January 18, 2019.
