Marvel Easter Eggs: Did you spot Tony Stark tribute in Spider-Man: Far From Home?

Spider-Man: Far From Home is soon expected to hit shelves so fans can take the movie home on DVD and Blu-ray. The movie sees Peter Parker try to escape the demands of superhero life with a school trip – but his duties follow him there. It turns out while Tony Stark is an important figure in the movie, there was an extra special Easter egg included.

In the DVD extras for the latest Marvel movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home, star Tom Holland reveals how he incorporated an extra special tribute for Tony Stark in the movie.

In a UK exclusive for Express.co.uk, Holland explains how the team recreated a scene from the first Iron Man movie to pay homage to the great man, with him even attempting to mimic Robert Downey Jnr’s moves.

He said: “It was an homage to Iron Man 1, I actually was watching a specific scene from that film trying to mimic Robert’s movements as exact as I could.

“It was a real nice detail that Jon [Watts, the director] and I came up with.

“For the real hardcore fans they are really to appreciate that acknowledgement and respect to the Godfather of the MCU.”

The AI in the clip explains what is going on in the clip, saying: “With Happy’s help, in Tony’s workshop, Peter channelled his inner Stark to spark a brand new back and red suit.

“Do you know how many variations for Spider-Man suits exist?”

In the movie, Peter has gone through hell and back and is finds himself in a small village in The Netherlands.

He calls Happy Hogan (played by Jon Favreau) to come and help him, who arrives on a plane set up with a lab to make a new Spider-Man suit.

Peter is distraught at how he has squandered Stark’s memory, realising he is not the person Stark believed him to be.

However, after a pep talk from Happy, Peter decides he must try to get the technology back which was gifted to him by Tony, and sets about getting a brand new suit to take on Mystery (Jake Gyllenhaal.)

Happy opens up the back of the plane, where a secret lab is waiting.

This scene, from what Holland has said, harks back to the first Iron Man movie, where Robert Downey Jnr’s Tony Stark is making the Mark II of his Iron Man suit.

Fans will remember that he made his first suit while trapped in Afghanistan, after he is kidnapped by a terrorist group called the Ten Rings.

He uses his newly planted electromagnet in his chest to power the suit which gives him the idea – once he arrives home – to make something similar.

At this point, he makes the first Iron Man suit which most looks like the one we have become attached to.

In the lab scene, Stark is seen putting items on his arm, testing them, and looking at various versions of the Iron Man suit, which Peter does in his suit-making moment as well.

Peter is seen lighting up his hands with tech around it, as Happy looks at him and smiles.

Seemingly, Happy is remembering his friend Tony, and how Peter is shaping up to fill the gap perfectly.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is out on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K on November 11, while the movie is now available to Buy & Keep from Sky Store
