The COVID-19 outbreak has infected more than 1.2 million people across the world, with 47,000 cases in the UK.

The UK was put into lockdown on 23 March in an unprecedented step to attempt to limit the spread of coronavirus.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said these measures will be in place for three weeks and be reviewed at the end of this period.

This means that they are due to be reviewed on April 13, which is around the time of the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

McDonald’s said it had been a hard decision to close down their shops.

The food chain said: “This is not a decision we are taking lightly, but one made with the well-being and safety of our employees in mind as well as in the best interests of our customers.

“We will work with local community groups to responsibly distribute food and drink from our restaurants in the coming days.”

Use a meal box from a fast food restaurant for your template or find a box template online.

Carefully trace the outline from the meal box or online template.

Cut out the shape from the cardboard.

Paint or colour the cardboard red if you want it to look like a McDonald’s Happy Meal box, or choose other colours.

Use the straight edge to create sharp, neat creases where you will fold the cardboard into a box. Then carefully fold your box into shape.

Print out or make copies of mazes, colouring pictures and hidden-picture or word-find games. Glue these to the sides of the box.

Pack the box with your child’s favourite healthy lunch.

Instead of a toy, include some crayons so she can play the games and colour the pictures.
