Meghan Markle: Why does Duchess wear three rings on wedding finger? Reason revealed
Meghan Markle said ‘I do’ to Prince Harry in a Windsor Castle ceremony on 19 May 2018. She was given a beautiful wedding band which complemented her specially-made engagement ring. Why has she started wearing a third ring on her wedding finger?
When Prince Harry proposed to the Duchess, she was gifted a stunning trilogy engagement ring which had a significant meaning to the couple.
Designed by Harry, the ring had a centre stone from Botswana and two diamonds on either side which belonged to Princess Diana.
Eddie LeVian, CEO of jeweller Le Vian, told Express.co.uk: “Meghan’s ring is arguably the most famous contemporary engagement ring in the world today.
“Prince Harry chose a trilogy engagement ring for Meghan, with a centre stone from Botswana and two diamonds on either side which came from his late mother Princess Diana’s jewellery collection.

“In this way he created a new jewel with a beautiful sense of history.
“The trilogy ring, otherwise known as a three stone ring, is designed to be classic, timeless and symbolic of the past, present and future within an engagement ring.
“By incorporating something from his mother, Harry not only captured part of his past to celebrate his present but also to pass part of his history to the future.”
When the couple tied the knot, Meghan was given another stunning ring which was placed on her wedding finger.

The band is thought to be made of Welsh gold which follows the tradition of other royals including Queen Elizabeth II and Kate Middleton.
However, the Duchess has been seen flaunting a third thing above her engagement ring.
Meghan was first noticed wearing the ring after she returned from maternity leave sparking speculation she received it around the time of the birth of her son, Archie Harrison, six months.
The pave-set ring is embedded with the birthstones of Archie, Meghan and Harry, according to Harper’s Bazaar.
The publication reported the ring was designed by the jeweller Lorraine Schwartz with the help of Harry.
It included a peridot, emerald and sapphire and each birthstone had important symbolism.
The publication said: “Sapphires are believed to protect those close to you from harm, peridots said to instil power in the wearer, and emeralds, considered a symbol of rebirth and love.”
As Meghan started wearing it after both the birth of Archie and her one year wedding anniversary, it is difficult to know the occasion when she received it.
