Melania Trump in Africa: First Lady’s surprise new fashion look without Donald
Melania Trump is the First Lady of the United States.
The former-model is visiting Africa on her first ever international tour without her husband, Donald Trump.
Mother-of-one to Barron Trump, 12, she is promoting her Be Best campaign for children.
Now many have noticed a drastic change to Melania’s usual wardrobe.
The Slovenian model has eschewed her usual sky high stiletto heels for sensible flats, and Twitter users are amazed.
A pointy heel is somewhat of a staple of the First Lady’s wardrobe.
However, for her trip to Africa she has donned flats on multiple occasions.
She wore a pair of £50 Zara snakeskin flats to visit the Museum Educator in Cape Coast, Ghana.
Melania later wore a pair of Chanel flats to visit the Presidential palace in the Egyptian capital Cairo.
She even wore flats to arrive at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.
Twitter users wrote about the new look. One said: “Flats are certainly more appropriate than 6 inch heels! Also better for your feet when you have to walk up and down stairs, miles.”
Another wrote: “Hey — didn’t know she knew how to walk in flats!”
“Melania Trump kept it more casual on day two, in a pair of budget-friendly flats,” another said.
Melania Trump’s elephant run-in caused headlines across the world.
The First Lady was nudged by a baby elephant and the moment was caught on film.
Melania was feeding the huge mammals in Nairobi at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust elephant orphanage.
Will Melania Trump join Donald in Paris after her Africa trip?
Donald is scheduled to touch down in Paris on 11 November, accepting an invitation from Emmanuel Macron to attend an Armistice Day celebration.
The event will celebrate the Centenary of the end of the Great War, with other heads of state likely to attend.
