New to Netflix: What’s new to Netflix? All the latest film releases
Netflix has recently added a number of movies, including child-friendly, classics and horror flicks.
Here is a pick of some of the best new movies to come to Netflix.
Extra Ordinary
This dark comedy is one which very much flew under the radar when it came out.
The horror/rom-com/comedy hybrid follows lonely driving instructor Rose (played by Maeve Higgins), who reluctantly uses her paranormal talents when a teenager is targeted for sacrifice by a Satan-obsessed, former rock star (Will Forte).
The movie gained good ratings with fans and critics, gaining a 97 percent rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.
The Post
The Post was a movie, which many believed would be a major Oscar contender when it was released in 2017, though sadly it was not to be.
The movie follows the true story of The Washington Post journalists and owners when they landed one of the biggest scoops of the century: papers detailing a decades-long cover-up about Vietnam involving the president.
The film is a perfect companion to All the President’s Men, which continues the story after the Pentagon Papers were published, and stars Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks on excellent form.
Beetlejuice
Beetlejuice is a classic, oddball comedy starring Michael Keaton as the goofy, irritating ghost whose name brings him back.
The film also stars Geena Davis and Alex Baldwin as a young couple who discover poltergeists plaguing their home, so they need the help of another, oftentimes more irritating ghost to help rid them of the spirits.
The film is lauded as a classic among fans, though it had a cult following when it was first released in 1988.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy
For fans needing a really long movie project, this could be the one.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy are all back on Netflix, meaning fans can delve back into the journey which saw a young Hobbit forced to take on extremely frightening foes.
Along with this, another trilogy has been re-added to the platform – the Ocean’s trilogy – which sees George Clooney and Brad Pitt lead a group of gangsters through some extraordinary heists.
All the films above plus many more are available to stream on Netflix now
