Noel Gallagher: What he REALLY thinks of Liam's singing and music – It's NOT pretty

The public feud between the Gallagher brothers never seems to end. If fact, it seems they have been estranged for longer than they were ever in Oasis. Fans can pretty much abandon all hope of any reunion, with Noel in particular adamant he will never forgive or forget his brother’s offences towards him and his family. Put simply, Liam says; “It ain’t happening.” But, in a new interview today, he had a lot more to say about Liam’s recent performance at Glastonbury and his music in general. Hard to see any chance of a reunion after anyone hears that.

In a major new interview with The Guardian, Noel let loose what he thought when he watched Liam’s Glasto set.

He said: “I don’t think I’ve ever been so embarrassed for a man in my entire life. He’s pulled off the incredible magic trick of making those Oasis songs sound weedy and thin.

“And he looked like he was having the worst day of his life, walking around in what looks like a pair of my son’s pyjamas, shouting into a mic about some perceived injustice … if you can’t sing ’em, don’t play ’em!”

That wasn’t all, and it’s relatively mild compared to Noel’s views on his younger brother’s solo music. Noel, of course, wrote all the tracks on Oasis’ three blockbusting albums Definitely Maybe, Be Here Now and What’s The Story, Morning Glory?

Noel said: “I don’t listen to the albums, because I can’t stand his voice. But I hear it on the radio…

“I think it’s unsophisticated music. For unsophisticated people. Made by an unsophisticated man. Who’s giving unsophisticated orders to a load of songwriters who think they’re doing the Oasis thing.

“Which goes back to what I was saying before. You can turn the Marshall amp up to 12 all you want and do a bit of glam, but Oasis words were about including people, everyone in it together. And what I hear from him is just a load of bile … angry nonsense.”

And he’s still not done.

Noel added: “I reckon if I put my two sons in a room – one’s nine, one’s 11 – for about 45 minutes, they could probably muster up something better than that new single of his.”

The interview also expands on Noel’s fury about insults thrown at his wife, Sara MacDonald. It seems impossible to imagine how the brothers will ever find a way back together after so many years of very public and private anger.
