Are The Oscars available to watch in the UK?

Luckily for fans of the Oscars, the full ceremony will be available to watch.

Sky Cinema Oscars will be streaming red carpet coverage at the Academy Awards live from the US on February 9 from 10pm GMT.

For those just interested in watching the ceremony itself, this will begin at 1am on February 10, so it will be a long night for fans.

In the lead up to the big night, Sky Cinema Oscars will also be showcasing a variety of Academy Award-winning titles from years past, including The Favourite, Bohemian Rhapsody, A Star is Born and The Shape of Water, with all titles also available on demand.

The dedicated channel Sky Cinema Oscars is part of the regular Sky Cinema package and included at no extra cost, with the channel available until February 14.

NOW TV users can also watch the Academy Awards Live but, as with Sky users, they will need to subscribe to the NOW TV Sky Cinema package, and will not be able to watch any other way.

Of course, those with a Sky subscription will also be able to stream the awards from Sky Go, if they do not have a TV to hand.

Who will win an Oscar in 2020?

According to Ladbrokes, 1917 is the most likely to win Best Picture with 4/7 odds, followed by South Korean movie Parasite at 7/2.

Following these are Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, sitting at 8/1, while Joker is at 12/1, having not won an award in the film category yet.

In the leading actor categories, Renee Zellweger is the most likely woman to take home the Best Actress award, having swept most awards ceremonies so far.

She won the Golden Globe, BAFTA and Screen Actors’ Guild award for her portrayal of Judy Garland, in the movie Judy, and has 1/20 odds to complete her collection.

Similarly, if the previous awards ceremonies are anything to go by, this award is in the bag for Joaquin Phoenix.

He is 1/50 to take home the award, having followed Renee Zellweger in doing a clean sweep of the ceremonies.

Meanwhile, in the Best Director category, the men are reigning supreme with no women among the nominees.

The most likely to win is Sam Mendes, who is at 1/5, while Bong Joon Ho, the South Korean director behind Parasite is at 9/2.

Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorsese are coming up at the rear with 16/1 and 50/1 odds respectively.

Todd Phillips, who is also nominated for Joker, is even further down the list, looking the least likely to take home the award with 100/1 odds.

The Oscars take place on February 9 in Los Angeles at the Dolby Theatre, and are streamed in the UK via Sky Cinema Oscars and NOW TV
