Princess Eugenie used this trick at her wedding give a nod to royals like Meghan Markle

Princess Eugenie married her husband of seven years at a ceremony which took place at Windsor Castle. The royal is the daughter of Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, both 59, and she is the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, 93. She appears to be very close to her family and this is something she focused on during her wedding. Eugenie used a number of tricks to give a subtle nod to members of her family including Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton, both 37.

Princess Eugenie chose to get married at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle which is an important location to her family.

As well as being very near to where the Queen lives, it has been the venue for other royal weddings.

She appeared to take inspiration from her cousin-in-law, Meghan Markle, by choosing the same place where she married just months before.

Eugenie’s wedding dress appeared to take inspiration from the designs worn by Meghan and Kate Middleton.

For the big day, the Princess wore a specially-made dress by British based designers Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos.

Opting for a similar material, Eugenie also opted for a slightly off-shoulder design like the Duchess of Sussex.

Eugenie’s stunning gown featured a silk, cotton and viscose blend and featured a fitted bodice and full pleated skirt.

The fit and flare design of the dress took some inspiration from the Alexander McQueen gown worn by Kate Middleton.

Both dresses had a V-neck style with a fitted bodice which pulled in at the waist.

The two dresses also had similar long sleeves, although Kate’s were lace.

Princess Eugenie’s grand wedding cost an estimated £2.7 million, and it is likely the Royal Family fronted the bill.

They were set back by costs including catering for their 850 wedding guests, setting them back an estimated £151,600.

The Queen often opts to pay for royal weddings and this was probably no different.

As well as taking inspiration from Kate at her wedding, the pair are thought to have a close relationship. 

They are often spotted laughing together when they appear at royal events.
