Princess Eugenie wedding 2018: Eugenie will have 'sleek elegant' dress at her wedding
Princess Eugenie will tie the knot with fiancé Jack Brooksbank today, October 12, in what will be a lavish ceremony in St George’s Chapel.
This is the second Royal Wedding of the year and expectations are that Eugenie will be every inch as glamorous as Meghan Markle.
Meghan and Harry wed in May, also at St George’s Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle.
For a bride, a wedding brings the opportunity to wear a once in a lifetime bridal gown, complimenting shoes and glamorous hair.
Aruna Seth has designed shoes for both Kate and Pippa Middleton, designing Pippa’s shoes for her sister’s wedding to Prince William in 2011.
Ms Seth has dressed both Eugenie and Beatrice, so knows the ins and outs of the bride’s style.
Speaking to express.co.uk, Ms Seth predicts Eugenie will have a “sleek” and “elegant” dress and that the couple will abide by royal traditions.
Ms Seth said Eugenie’s wedding will “be very much in keeping with the royal family traditional style.”
Meghan and Harry added twists to royal wedding traditions in their wedding, featuring a Gospel choir and removing the word “obey” from their vows.
However, Ms Seth says of Eugenie: “All of her family will be there including her parents who are very friendly still and they will follow the royal protocols and speeches.”
In terms of bridal style, Meghan wore a pure white, boat neck gown designed by Clare Waight Keller, creative director of French fashion house Givenchy.
Ms Seth believes Eugenie’s dress will be “similar to Meghan’s – a sleek elegant silhouette with clean simple lines”
She added: “I think she will add a bit more of traditional lace to emphasise the royal glamour and maybe a bit of colour.”
For footwear, shoe expert Ms Seth imagines Eugenie will wear “very simple ivory court shoes which are comfortable but glamorous”.
With weddings and the subsequent reception lasting all day, and brides flitting between family, friends, and dancing the night away, a comfortable pair of shoes is key.
Ms Seth has some important advice for any budding brides who are choosing their wedding shoes: “Focus firstly on where your wedding will take place- is it a chapel wedding, vineyard, or beach wedding?
“Also the height of your groom is important for the photographs.
“Lastly choose shoes that you are comfortable wearing.”
“If you always wear flats do not go for a heel too high as you will not be able to walk with ease on your wedding day.
“Choose a heel that makes you feel confident and glamorous.”
The A-list shoe designer also has some advice for bride-to-be Eugenie:
“Choose comfortable shoes and whatever you do make sure you feel relaxed and happy so you can enjoy your day.
“The best day of your life!”
