Princess Eugenie wedding 2018: What will Eugenie wear? Will THIS be her dress designer?

Princess Eugenie is set to tie the knot with long-term boyfriend of seven years Jack Brookbank in an extravagant wedding in Windsor on Friday, October 12.

The wedding will be held at St George’s Chapel, the same venue as Eugenie’s cousin Prince Harry when he married Meghan Markle in May, earlier this year.

Eugenie’s wedding will be a two-day event, with reports there will be a festival on Saturday, October 13.

The couple has decided to follow in Harry and Meghan’s footsteps, inviting 800 Royal and A-list celebrity guests and 1,200 people from the general public to their big day.

What will Princess Eugenie wear and who will design her dress?

Bookies have revealed which designer Royal fans believe the Princess will choose, with fashion house Erdem being in the lead for weeks ahead of the wedding.

However, according to Ladbrokes, a last-minute gamble is developing on Suzannah designing Princess Eugenie’s wedding dress.

Erdem remains the favourite with the bookies at odds of 2/1 but British designer Suzannah has seen odds cut in the last 24 hours to 3/1 from previously 9/2.

Closely behind are designers Jenny Packham 5/1 and Preen 6/1 followed by Suzanne Neville (8/1).

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “We know Princess Eugenie’s flying the flag for British designers, and punters are beginning to wonder if an upset could be on the cards for the likes of Suzannah or Preen, leaving Erdem to miss out on the big day.”

Some bookies have previously listed odds on a repeat of Meghan Markle’s designer choice, Givenchy, but the fashion house is now out of the top ten choices.

Rumours also has it the Queen’s granddaughter will be wearing a special family heirloom, the York tiara, to honour her family on her wedding day.

By choosing the York tiara, Eugenie will pay a special tribute to her mother who wore the headpiece when she married into the Royal Family in 1986.

The Queen and Prince Philip are believed to have bought the item for Fergie from jewellers Garrad as a wedding gift.

When Eugenie walks down the aisle on Friday it will be the first time the Princess wear a tiara as its tradition only married women can don an embellished headpiece.

What is the royal wedding dress code and what will guests wear?

The Queen’s granddaughter has imposed a strict dress code for her guests.

Whilst women attending Eugenie’s big day will be wearing day dresses and hats, men will be required to wear morning coats.

This is a stricter dress code than Meghan Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry earlier this year, where men could wear military uniforms, morning coats and lounge suits.

Morning coats are traditional to wear for British men and it’s been speculated the addition of lounge suits at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’ wedding could have been for American guests not familiar with the tradition.

As Jack hasn’t served in the military as Eugenie’s cousin Prince Harry did, it makes sense that uniforms aren’t included on the invitation.
