Queen Elizabeth II wears brooch rarely seen for this reason with Camilla in Westminster

The Queen attended a service today in London with other members of the Royal Family.

Celebrating Commonwealth Day, the likes of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle were all in attendance.

Her Majesty and Camilla Parker Bowles wore similar hues for today’s event.

Both opted for a rich purple for the Commonwealth Day service.

The Queen’s coat had velvet buttons and velvet lines pockets, and her had had a floral fixture on the front.

She wore black bags and carried a black handbag.

But one of the most dazzling aspects of her outfit was her brooch.

The stunning piece was once given to Queen Victoria as a gift from her aunt the Duchess of Kent.

It has a huge central amethyst and diamond around it. However, the Queen rarely wears it.

This is thought to be because the Queen is not a big fan of the purple stone.

The piece is generally worn to accentuate purple outfits.

Camilla, on the other hand, wore her favourite everyday pearl and diamond necklaces and earrings.

Prince William’s wife held a grey bag and wore matching grey shoes. Kate’s shoes and handbag were from Emmy London.

The stylish royal wore a cream hat and textured cream coat, which cuts off just above the knee, and featured a slit at the bottom of each side.
