Queen Maxima meets Queen Elizabeth in blush pink coat and VERY unusual headband

Queen Maxima, 47, wore a pink coat dress with matching headband for her first appearance in the UK today.

Beaming as she bowed to the Queen, 92, Maxima kept her hands covered with a pair of nude leather gloves.

Keeping her legs protected against the winter chill, Maxima wore thick nude tights.

Completing the outfit, she donned a pair of nude suede court shoes.

Mum-of-three Maxima did not scrimp on the jewellery, donning a pair of large pink drop earrings and a matching brooch.

A silver bracelet decorated one wrist, while a black leather stap watch was on the other.

Maxima’s hair was styled in an impeccable low bun worn to one side.

She kept her makeup low-key, wearing a dark pink lipstick and heavy mascara.

Maxima and Willem-Alexander’s visit marks the first time in almost 40 years that the Dutch royals have made an official visit to the UK.

In true royal style, Maxima and Willem will be spending the first night of their visit actually staying at Buckingham Palace.

This could be down to the close ties the Dutch and British royal families have.

Buckingham Palace has a total of 52 royal and guest bedrooms, so there is plenty of room for Maxima.

It is not confirmed whether Maxima will meet other royals such as Kate Middleton and Prince William.

The last time the Dutch royals made an official visit to the UK was in 1982, when Queen Beatrix visited the Queen.

Willem is also reportedly set to have lunch with Theresa May at Downing Street and then reportedly has an audience with the Queen.

Maxima is one of the most fashionable royals in the world, and is known for her daring and colourful outfits.

She is often spotted talking inspiration from the British royals, seen last week wearing shoes almost identical to ones worn by Kate Middleton.

The 47-year-old Queen attended an event to mark the 40th anniversary of the Dutch Association Insurers in The Hague.
