Queen Maxima of The Netherlands in pictures: Modern royal wears unusual spider brooches
Queen Maxima of the Netherlands attended a royal event at the Grote Kerk in The Hague yesterday.
The 47-year-old Dutch Queen arrived in the Autumn sunshine wearing a gorgeous grey cowl neck top and a sparkly silver skirt, however it was the royal’s choice of jewellery which caught everyone’s attention.
The wife of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, who is known for her modern take on royal fashion, wore two large brooches on her top in the shape of spiders.
Perfectly timed for Halloween at the end of the month, the Monarch wore the jewellery to the Annual Congress of MKB-Nederland.
The eye-catching spider brooches are made by a company called Celedonio – a jewellery designer from the Queen’s native Argentina.
Maxima, who is mother to Catharina-Amalia, Princess of Orange, and princesses Alexia and Ariane, has worn the unique brooches on a number of occasions in the past.
Such a fan is she of the arachnid brooches that she wore them in 2015 for at least two events – one in Rotterdam and one at The Hague.
The stylish royal, who is a member of the Dutch Committee for Entrepreneurship, gave a speech at the event yesterday.
Last week Queen Maxima of the Netherlands was in Moerkapelle for an event celebrating entrepreneurship.
