Roger Federer apologises to fans after booking place in Australian Open second round

Federer offered his time, alongside the likes of Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Nick Kyrgios and Serena Williams, to play in the Rally for Relief last week.

The event was aimed at raising money for those affected by the devastating bushfires which have swept across Australia.

And the world No 3 insists he had no second thoughts about offering his services.

“It is a couple of things, number one I am always going to be there at an event like this,” Federer explained.
