Royal Family LIVE: 'Alarmed' William looked 'miserable' after row with Palace over image
As 2022 marks the year of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, investor platform Saxo Markets has revealed which of the UK’s most respected companies, those bearing the Royal Warrant, have performed on the stock market over the past three decades.
The most successful is actually Her Majesty’s supplier of agricultural equipment, John Deere, which has seen a return of 6,684 percent over the last 30 years.
Elsewhere, well known brands Volkswagen, Sony and Kelloggs have shown a positive return.
Despite a negative return over the past three decades, the strongest performer this year has been Esso Petroleum returning a profit of 370 percent for investors with its share price rising in line with demand for fuel prices around the world.
Peter Garnry, Head of Equity Strategy at Saxo Bank, said: ”The Royal Warrant is a beacon of high product quality which is an important characteristic for any company that wants to become successful and reward its shareholders.
“Looking through the list of publicly-listed companies that have got the Royal Warrant is therefore a good starting point for finding robust companies and potentially good returns in the future.
”Among the publicly-listed companies with the Royal Warrant, especially two stocks, Deere and Esso, have gained in the past year due to rapidly rising prices on agricultural products and an energy crisis fueling galloping prices on petroleum and other oil-refined products.
“Deere also enjoys scale and pricing power that makes the company stand out. Esso is a long-term trusted brand in refined oil products blossoming recently due to elevated prices and not necessarily a change in the underlying business.”
