Sarah Ferguson looks luminous at BFI luminous fundraising gala in London
Sarah Ferguson was spotted attending two separate events last night and stunned the media with her fashionable and stylish outfits. The flame-haired Duchess of York first attended the BFI’s luminous fundraising gala where she wore an elegant sleeveless red dress. The dress has made several previous appearances, with the first being when the Duchess attended the “Filming Italy Sardengna Festival” in Santa Margherita di Pula, Cagliari in June.
At this event, the dress oozed effortless regal glamour and the Duchess opted for natural makeup to match. Sarah wore light brown eyeshadow with dark eyeliner, bronzed cheeks and a glossed nude lip.
The Duchess wore her trademark flaming hair in a half-up and half-down hairstyle which sweeps the hair out of her face allowing the dangling crystal and diamond earrings to be seen and frame her face. Her hair was curled in ringlets fell down her back.
Finishing off the look, Sarah paired the dress with some simple pointed black heels and a glittery clutch that matched her earrings.
Her appearance at the BFI event comes just days after she revealed she shed ‘tears of joy” after her eldest daughter Princess Beatrice, 31, announced her engagement to property tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
In a touching tribute to her daughter, Princess Beatrice and fiancé she wrote on social media: “I know what mother feels so I have tears of joy. I am so proud of this sensational news. Andrew and I are just the luckiest people ever to have two great sons-in-law.”
The BFI event is a biennial fundraising gala hosted at London’s iconic Roundhouse. The evening celebrates the best of British film and film talent. Guests help raise money to support the BFI National Archive by bidding on once-in-a-lifetime lots, including in the past a “private audience with Al Pacino and a walk-on part in Paddington 2”.
All funds raised at Luminous 2019 will be used to support the BFI’s transformational education programmes.
Education is a key factor of the BFI’s mission to identify and support young and emerging film-making talent.
Young people from various backgrounds who struggle to access training, resources or a platform to have their voices heard will be offered a range of opportunities with the funds raised at the gala.
The Duchess of York, ever the busy bee, was then later spotted at The Dior Session book launch event in London.
The Dior Sessions is a collection of celebrity portraits taken by Von Bismarck. All the men included are pictured wearing Dior pieces with the aim of capturing the designer brand under the direction of British designer Kim Jones.
The Duchess chose to trade in her royal red dress in favour of a fitted black ensemble.
Sarah kept the same hair and makeup but opted for a new pair of simple silver and diamond hoop earrings. Changing into a black mini dress, which was pleated and flared at the bottom, the Duchess finished off the look by wearing a fitted zip-up blazer, black light denier tights and black slip-on pumps.
The look showed off a fun side to Sarah and offered a great look at her toned legs.
